Carlos Bonell

Carlos Bonell (born London 1949) is an English guitarist of Spanish origin, famous for having given concerts in the most popular music as well as collaborating several times with British television stations and Film. He was a pupil of John Williams, with whom he also recorded a CD ( "John Williams & Friends"). In 1992 he achieved international fame with his recording of the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo with the pianist Alicia de Larrocha: the disc has been honored as one of the best recordings of this concerto movement. Carlos has worked with Sir Paul McCartney in notating and recording a concerto for guitar and orchestra. The work was featured in a June 2007 cover article by The New Yorker magazine. He gives concerts and educational activities throughout the world and is widely regarded as one of the best interpreters of modern guitar playing.
